Key Projects/Accomplishments

  • Contracted by the CEO of an international ASP as interim CTO during a personnel transition. Chief mission: Keep the systems functioning and keep projects on track. Value added: Identified areas which required remediation; assessed existing projects. Result: Kept system running at 99.9+%; put processes in place to remedy issues; led departmental teams to develop infrastructure/OS/software upgrade plans that were achievable at lower cost with lower risk than existing plans.
     
  • Contracted by the board of directors of a national full-service IT solutions provider to identify and correct unprofitable company practices. Implemented process directives, mentored senior staff, guided company direction and client interaction. Helped company identify and retain profitable clients and let unprofitable client go. Result: An increase to their bottom line in excess of 20 percentage points.

  • Analyzed the outsourced IT needs of a convergence technology and communication solutions provider. Managed a series of projects and continue to team with the VP of development as he embarks on new technology initiatives. Result: Identification of better business partners; a more reliable platform.

  • Managed entire technology implementation of a new, 150,000 sf, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility built in Ireland for a major multi-national corporation. Matrix-managed 25-plus-member international team based in the U.S., England, Ireland, Belgium, plus contractors in the U.S., Ireland, France. Result: Completed this two-year project on time, on spec, and within its $3+M IT capital and operating budget.

  • Built the IT department for a medical-device-manufacturing company: analyzed business practices/needs and technology requirements; created and executed the plan which created the IT

  • Functioning as the On-Demand CTOsm for a regional real-estate developer. Provide ongoing guidance, direction and project management for their technology initiatives.

  • Planned and managed the implementation of a fully-integrated ERP (enterprise resource planning) system in a "computer-phobic" environment.

  • Created an operations effectiveness, change-control analysis and business process reengineering proposal and implementation plan for UDV North America, a major international liquor importer/distributor (Diageo plc).

  • Planned and managed the implementation of the operations migration to a scalable and reliable out-sourced environment for a boutique internet streaming media company, in preparation for a gala live Web event at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC.

  • Undertook an analysis of business practices/needs and technology requirements - then created and executed a plan that satisfied the needs of a company that previously had no IT department.

  • Re-engineered department and infrastructure of a troubled IT organization, creating a stable, scalable IT environment that gave users new-found confidence in the company's previously unreliable platforms and non-client-service-oriented staff.
